We’ll be doing trail and road maintenance on the lower parts of the Monte Cristo Road, and also have some supplies that could be carried into town. There is always brushing work to be done at the townsite should you want to venture there.
We typically work until around 3:00 however you are welcome to stay however long you want to.

We will be holding our 2023 Annual Meeting Saturday June 10.
It will be in person at 12:00 Noon behind the Verlot Service Center at 33515 Mtn. Loop Highway Granite Falls, WA 98252.
Join us for lunch at noon (Bring a dish to share) and the meeting following shortly thereafter.
We’ll discuss our work accomplished last year, plans for this year, current state of the Monte Cristo road, trail and log crossing, provide a fiscal report, and introduce the Board of Directors.
The Mountain Loop Highway opened from Deer Creek to Barlow Pass May 19, so you can plan on a short trip up the highway too, if desired. The Loop is not yet open from Barlow Pass to Bedal.

Come gather with MCPA members in Marysville 5:30PM on Saturday February 11. We have not held an in-person social for the past few years, but are eager to get back together again.
We’ll have a potluck dinner starting at 5:30, then we have several topics of information to share beginning about 6:00.
We’ll talk about our work accomplished in 2022 and whats planned for 2023. We have invited guests from the WA DNR (Department of Natural Resources) Wildfire Resources team to talk with us about the 2022 fire season (particularly the Bolt Creek fire, which occurred just 15 miles south of Monte Cristo), as well as Q&A about wild Fire prevention, fighting techniques and what resources DNR has at their disposal. Additionally, Fred Cruger from the Granite Falls Historical Society will also be present to discuss some projects the USFS and partners are working on, as well as other Mountain Loop Highway topics.

There is continued trail work to be done on the first section of the county road, and some members may bike or hike into the townsite to perform maintenance there. We are also planning a group lunch at 12:00 noon during the work party. MCPA will provide the main meal (grilled Salmon Burgers) and the burger fixings for MCPA members. Feel free to bring a side dish, snack or dessert to share. Please RSVP to allpinball @ yahoo . com so we’ll know how many burgers to bring. The group lunch will be at the picnic table located about 1/2 mile past the Barlow Pass Gate on the Monte Cristo Road.

June 18 we will certainly have a full days work clearing windfalls from the county road. Likely there will also be trail maintenance to do after the winter season, so bring tools and supplies as you see fit for those tasks.
